Throughout the global air freight industry companies are overjoyed at the performance of the sector for the fourth quarter of 2016 and optimism reigns supreme that the growth will be carried over into 2017. The nuts and bolts of the statistics show that Q4 2016 was the best quarter for global air cargo demand seen in more than six years.
WorldACD reported that demand for air freight services over that period of time increased by 7.5% year-over-year helped in no small part by a giant increase of 9.4% seen in December alone. What makes that even more remarkable is that December would not typically provide the best growth results when studying Q4 trending.
Amongst the factors the drove the increased demand for Air Freight were consistent regional patterns of growth versus an extreme reliance on one region (most typically Asia Pacific) as has been seen frequently in recent years. Seasonal/Holiday demand was also strong than had been expected.
At AirFreight.com we're especially excited about the prospects of helping customers with all of their air freight and air charter services this year and expect these results to continue in an upward fashion.
